The short version: By default, everything you enter stays on your own device and we collect nothing. If you choose the optional RacerSense Cloud subscription, your race data is backed up to secure cloud storage where only you can access it — and we still never sell it, share it, or use it for advertising.
Overview
RacerSense is a driver performance and session management app for racing drivers, coaches, and teams. This policy explains what information the app handles and how it is used.
RacerSense is operated by Jamieson Solutions and is built privacy-first: the app works fully offline, and nothing you enter leaves your device unless you choose to use the optional RacerSense Cloud subscription described below.
Using RacerSense without an account
You can use RacerSense fully without creating an account or signing in. In that case we do not collect, store, or transmit:
- Your name, email address, or any account information
- Device identifiers or advertising IDs
- Usage analytics or crash reports
- Any information about your drivers, sessions, or events
Your data — driver names, session feedback, lap times, setup changes, and event notes — is stored locally on your device only, and is deleted when you uninstall the app or clear its storage.
RacerSense Cloud: your account
RacerSense Cloud is an optional subscription that backs up your data and syncs it across your devices. To provide it, we need to know who you are.
Sign-in is handled by Microsoft Entra External ID. Depending on how you sign in (email code, Google, or Apple), we receive your email address and display name. We use these solely to identify your account and your data. We never sell them, share them with advertisers, or use them for marketing you didn't ask for.
RacerSense Cloud: your race data
When you sync, the data you created in the app — events, sessions, setup changes, driver feedback, and similar records — is transmitted over an encrypted connection and stored in Microsoft Azure data centres (New Zealand North region).
- Your data is stored under your account and is accessible only to you
- Each user's data is isolated — no other RacerSense user can access it
- We do not read, analyse, or use your race data for any purpose other than providing sync and backup
Data retention and deletion
- Records you delete in the app are removed from view on all your devices; they are retained in recoverable form so you can restore accidental deletions from the Recently Deleted screen
- If your Cloud subscription lapses, your synced data remains stored so it's there if you return — and your local data always remains yours, on your device
- To permanently delete your account and all cloud-stored data, contact us at support@racersense.com and we will remove it
Purchases
RacerSense offers an optional one-time Pro upgrade and the optional RacerSense Cloud monthly subscription. All payments are processed entirely by the platform you downloaded the app from. We do not handle, process, or store any payment card or billing information.
Service providers & what we still don't do
We use Microsoft Azure to host RacerSense Cloud (data storage and sign-in). Microsoft acts as a data processor; their handling of data is governed by their commitments at privacy.microsoft.com.
Beyond that, nothing has changed:
- No advertising and no third-party analytics or tracking
- No selling or sharing of your personal information
- No internet-connected features beyond sync, sign-in, weather, and store payments
Children's privacy
RacerSense is used by racing families, including junior drivers. Using the app without an account involves no data collection at any age. A RacerSense Cloud account should be created by, or with the consent of, a parent or guardian where required by local law.
Changes to this policy
If we update this privacy policy, the revised version will be published at this address with an updated date at the top. If we ever change what data we collect or how we use it, we will note it here. Continued use of the app after any changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
